We all love the idea of eating fresh, local food. But have you noticed a frustrating pattern in our area?
The major farmers' markets are mostly packed with out-of-town vendors. Meanwhile, our absolute best, truly local farms—the ones with the truly organic heirloom purple carrots, the pristine raw dairy, and heritage meats—have no online ordering presence. And even if they do- to get their food, you must drive miles to pick up only at certain times a week and pay cash! Most of the local CSA’s fill up fast and they also do not have a delivery service. Why force the farmers to do more marketing when they already have TONS of work to do to grow our food?
This is where my passion lies. Not only do I love to drive, (preferably manual speedy sports vehicles) but I want to see the farmers here succeed over big AGRA. I want to keep things ultra local and efficient and fuel the way for better food systems in this area.
